I think I'll make both. + 1/2" and losi wheel length. Hey Twisted, What is the length and width of your build? Does it match the losi type body?

I did read that the heading asked for suggestions. I am very aware that it takes a lot to please all of the people. The post asked for suggestions and then someone responded that we had to many wants?
We can't include ALL the ideas out there but, what do you have in mind?

Does extending +1/2 inch mean that the original body will still fit? It's only for the 2028 motor install?

It should still fit. You would need to make new holes for the body posts. Probably just the front hole.

Thanks for the reply. I had a few suggestions I have posted. I had no expectations that they would ALL be used. I was merely commenting on how another poster had acted like I was making too many demands. Also that the post did ask for SUGGESTIONS. I don't think I use my car for the same purpose as most of the participants here. I am going to excuse myself from this post now. I did not want to cause conflict but felt I had been chastised for offering my suggestions.

If you feel that way about being chastised, myself or anyone else did not mean to do it. This thread is just to iron out xbe chassis setup.

Hard anodizedbigger servo mounts-- hitec5755? / savox0236

1 radio/esc/servo/switch/transponder tray. 1 peice 6 bolts to remove as assembly kyosho MP9 is a good example

lower ESC in chassis

quick release center spur gear -(or maybe top screwed so you don't have to pull the motor) 4 bolts?

It would be great if the chassis allowed for more droop for rough surfaces. It has good limiting screws but the down travel seems a little shy.

Thats alot of demands!......LOL

I am sure you will build a great product either way. sign me up
Hard anodizing is nice but expensive. +$25 and they would all have to be done to keep the price down to $25. One at a time would be closer to $65

I'll have new servo mounts that fit in the stock holes and hold the 5755 in a "standing up" position.

I'm not familiar with the Kyosho MP9 Pix?

When you stand the steering servo up there is room to put the ESC next to it.

Thats as low as it gets.

I would hope that people use my motor mount. You'll have a much wider choice of gear ratios and it is sealed from the dirt. I'm trying to make steel gears for it to take the 2028 and bigger motors

The gas chassis I make now has no limiting screw pads and most people don't like it. They don't like the suspension fully extending. Maybe I could put some pads on that could be bent down if you wanted to to give more

I'll have to order the servo mount. That should really help with the layout issue I am having. I want the chassis too. I ask for more droop because I drive mostly on this track. View attachment 6267 View attachment 6268 Some of the jumps are up to 15 feet ramp to ramp. The XBE turns great laps on it. We hold nitro and electric races a few times a year and want to add a 1/5 scale race to the schedule. When it dries out I will post some video. It just snowed here last night. My XBE seems to have power to spare for my application. What other benefits will the new motor give me? I can see the longer chassis adding straight line stability but will it affect turning?I am saving up spare cash to buy all of your upgraded housings and hubs to handle the punishment the track dishes out. It seems like every battery pack eats at least one stock bearing from somewhere on the car. That track is a little tight for 1/5th so your stock motor will be all you need. I don't think adding 1/2" to 20' wheel base will effect the handling too much.

Here is somthing I want. Those plastic sides are a real pain in the ass to make work from a machining point of veiw. Do we have to have them? I can make the new chassis wide enough to fit right up against the stock body or/and add a thin piece of aluminum about an inch or so high to help keep the dirt out.

It is tight. We designed it for 1/8 scale. We are thinking of building a 1/5 track on other side of driver stand.

The only OTHER purpose I know of for the plastic side dams is to keep air from turning the body into a sail when airborne. Probly not a huge issue with a 20 lb car though. I do see your dilemma. Where you are lengthening is a bend in the side guard. Maybe the side guard could be cut at the bend and a gap would be there. Then you can add a couple of screw points to re-attach the loose ends. Tough problem!

I will draw my idea and post it soon.

Oh. I see. I wonder if grafil would make a narrower body to do away with side guards?

Maybe a combo of slightly wider chassis and narrower body?

Just thinking out loud. That gets into more $ for sure.

I am throwing random ideas.

A tub chassis could work.

I like the plastic sides for protection and I think it looks funny without it when body is on. I would pay extra for it.

I think if the chassis included the side rock guards all one piece would be sweet. It should make the chassis even more rigid.

How much weight do you think it would add?

I really like the idea of the integrated side panels!

I didn't mean to sound like I was against the ideas of changes in the chassis, hopefully it didn't come across that way. I just really want the new chassis in whatever form it comes in, so the quicker the better is what I'm after.
