Hop Ups

Jaric,

When you receive the hop up parts would you post pictures so we can see the offical color of them. The stock photos on the Redcat site do them no justice.

Thanks,

City

Hop=ups are HERE

2 screws fell out of the car as I picked it out of the box

some screws have ..some sort of glue (NOT blue loctite)

some screws have the hex rounded off (wonderful)

some screws just won't come out...

broke two hex tools already....I'm ordering screws by the bushel....

=(

because some of the parts such as the front steering mount assembly is slightly different than the original plastic parts..

you now screw into the alloy part rather than the nylon part

the screw used in the nylon part is like 8mm too long

and a few other issues

well i hope i don't need no screws, I don't have many in stock. We will see. I roasted the wheel berings on second tank with the xb, running on grass and blacktop, no jumps or water yet. Ordered another set of berings to try one more time. (Maybe a bad set?) Also got alum. bering carrier to hold them in tight.I'll post if i had any problems with anything. (Berings-Screws)

same here....

the same thing happened to me when I first got my Xt and trying to apply loctite on the screws. A lot of them just rounded off. I'm not a rookie when it comes to doing something like this and I was using the right tool, but just to be sure I took the truck down a friend's auto shop and he confirmed that I have some badly made screws mostly at the bottom of the chassis. He tried several screws and it did the same thing when he was doing it. Is this just a fluke or it happened to other XT owners.

Hi Darin

I will post them tonight as soon as I get home from work

I solved the screw issues by using screw cutters (length was an issue)

now the steering assembly is the biggest problem as the servo saver assembly does not fit (Metal insert with threads at the top does not fit into steering arm)

do I need to put flowers and butterflies in the pictures also?

(just remembered another thread)

And it is not your fault, no need to apologize

It's still a great product for the price IMHO

I guess these are teething issues

:D

I'm just sharing the issues not dissing the product....

I can't wait to go and run it !

O yea, it happens sooner or later a bad one in the bunch. I sold a xb 2 days ago and the guy called back to tell me how much better he liked it over his 5b. He said out of the box it was solid. 3 tanks into it and he said the tires were almost bald from burnouts on the blacktop:)
