piston port window for reed manifold needed!!

hi guys


i want to use a o,neil reed manifold and wanted to know some info and see pics hopefully on how to mod piston to suit reed manifold


you need a port window on intake side of piston in middle up close to near ring.


i suppose a single window oval long hole of about 10 mm diam with radius edges i guess ??


does any one have pics or links to pics of trevor simpson or o,neil reed port pistons please ??


i wanna exactly where,shap and size of port window needed thats all.


hope to hear some replies please guys

much appreicated,if you could get pics would be great mate.


the cylinder is cylinder port reed type not crank case just so you know.


also the cylinder is fully ported and modded from new zealand.


i wrang o,neil brothers mate, and he told me he takes 2 mm of bottom of piston skirt and thats all he does.


but i don't want to do that way as piston has been lightened already and inner side of skirt is a bit thinnner so i don't really want to take material of bottom of skirt.


the port window is better option ,but thats is if it will work with o,neil reed that is,which it should.


but ts makes the oval radius hole like you mentioned.


so which is better,which works better ??


so moo how far should the port window be ??


as iv seen pic from ddm site and it shows port window about 5 mm down under the piston ring !!


is that where you put yours ??

ah well i need to do the other type of port window as explained mate above.

wow. you really are a ****.. so you know the question you asked is deemed to be secret information. its like asking for the recipe for coco-cola. your just not going to get it. unless someone has done it themself your liklyhood of getting that information from a engine porter is slim. thats why you got a PM and it wasnt posted on the web. i actually have a link for you that i found recantly. it shows all the porting mods for the cylander, head and intake. explains what they do, explains timing and also what tools you need and the pictures are awsome. very detailed. also goes into piston lightening and modified flywheels. also have another link that goes into further detail on all 2stroke modifactions and what they do.. but have fun finding that info, couse you wont get it from me. no need to bash us and discredit our machines. hope your motor blows up and you hit a tree:D:D lmfao!!

generally speaking, this guy doesn't represent how aussies are (normally)


I doubt you would get that info from any forum, baja, FG, MCD etc
