7075 bearing holder swap question

What are yall doing to remove the cvd's from the bearing holders? I have some 7075 holders I want to swap in. I can't heat the square. I sprayed it with penetrating oil & tried tapping it out w/no luck. After breaking a lay shaft & seeing how fragile the metal is I'm concerned about breaking it.

Why can't you heat the square?

Remove the set screws.

Normally if you thread the wheel nut on the end of the axle to protect the threads, you can give it a good wack with the hammer. That normally pops it loose for me.

I don't want to heat it bc I don't want to melt the plastic. As for threading the nut I did that. I'll go whack it some more. Just don't want to break the cheap bolt.
