chimera

I didn't really see one in a single place but it would be cool if some of the pros would make a checklist for upgrades and hop ups. One that we newbies could print up and use it as a guide to buy new things as it becomes possible. Just a thought, what does everyone think?

Is there any way to gain a couple inches of ground clearance?

Just replaced my stripped gears. But my concern is there's no light oil or grease or even graphite powder need to place on these gears? The cover when i took it off to access the gears they were all bone dry. Is that normal for 1/5 scales? :o

I like the look of the chimera and the price is excellent, from what i can see its a solid car (not keen on the wheels though). I know this is a redcat forum so people all support them but what i want to know is this a good solid car and could i take it racing and compete against the HPI boys...

I see in the user manual there is a 26cc, 30cc installed and a 36cc. Not sure if this vehicle can handle a 36cc but I'm gonna find out. Lol gonna order the 36cc for this chimera and add in the 2 speed tranny lol i'll be making a video on this soon and it comes in and gets installed!!! :D

When I was running 1/8 scale I'd always use a degreaser cleaner to wash down my truck and then use after run oil. With the chimera ive been spraying it down with small engine and carb cleaner. But i'm curious what how everyone else is cleaning their 1/5 scales.

Flip it tons of times and she held up, even doing a barrel roll into a empty canal. The only thing im having problems is with steering servo (maybe connection issue) and throtle/brake is shot..gonna have to upgrade after my other stock servo goes. Well here are some pics.

Running my chimera all day. a few minutes ago it completly stopped moving, engine was still running so i assumed maybe drive shaft between wheels came out but when i turned it off completley i heard a spinning sound on the picture you see a red X marking what is spinning so freely. LOL before...

Does anyone have and mods or directions and or pics on venting the tank of the chimera? I really hate the way this tank is not properly vented. I was auctaully getting a pressure build up where gas seemed to be coming our of the fuel filter.

What is the outside diameter of the outlet of the Jet-Pro for the Chimera? I'm looking to get a short length of tube to direct the exhaust away from the car.

I ended up buying the wrong gear pack for my SR. I got the 3-25t gears... I can return them for the stock ratio, or keep these and purchase the corresponding 35t. I found this gear chart from RCdad: Should I run it 25-35-25-25 OR 35-25-25-25 for more top speed? or will either ratios bog...

I want to order the 2 speed tranny for my chimera but I want some feedback from those who have received and installed and ran theirs. LOL I'd like the Pros and Cons and have you noticed better performance also what else would you reccomend when ordering the tranny?

Does anyone know the stock settings for the Walbro 998 carb? I tried 1 1/2 on hsn and 1 1/4 on lsn and that does not seem to work with this carb

I've read that when you order the Chimera a kill switch comes with it. LOL because I never got one but then again, I've never used a kill switch before. Normally just the fail safe. Is the kill switch really a necessity vs just pressing the button on the engine?

I haven't worked with it in a while but I'm thinking of making a fiberglass mold of the body pieces and making carbon fiber parts. What does everyone thing about carbon fiber?
