Dies when applying the breaks

If you notice in the pic, that little arm above the bottom gear, that is what applies the brakes. Push that arm towards the front of the vehicle, and see if you can now roll it on the ground.

Well...

Your probably going to have to remove that top plate the the throttle servo is mounted to. You can inspect that area for debris that could be stuck in there, or possibly broken parts.

It's not as bad as it looks. Get a cold drink and just take your time. Have fun. Personally, I enjoy the wrenching as much as the driving.

I totally agree, the wife got a little upset with me because I finally took a day and worked on my 1/5ths got my Rampage MT working great now it's the buggies turn, what's nice is I have two XB Buggies. but im going to enjoy ripping this guy apart, it will help me understand them better and make me not feel like such a noob lol.

just wanted to give an update. I found some time this evening when I got home from work to look into this issue some more. I opened up the gear box area that RCDad recommended doing and found a rock stuck other the brake pads, pulled the rock out and the car was able to move freely again, just wanted to post the results in case this happens to some one else. Thanks to everyone that gave me some advice and helped me resolve this issue.

its nice that you found the problem like rcdad said i love the cold one with the wrenching my wife doesn't but whatever
Yeah I just grabbed a bottle of water sat down and worked away with RCDads help (wife was at work) she got home when I was about half way into it right when I found the issue and she just sat down and started talking and telling me about her day, she's really good about the hobby and lets me do my thing for the most part. It's really nice because now I know how to change the carb out so I can put a better one on etc etc, really glad I got the nerve to tear it apart and now actually waiting for something else to break so I can fix it.

I got one too its a roller!!! I don't have a use for it anymore. Funds are kind of low and would rather stick money into my other cats

It just happened that I was also having an issue with my engine cutting out on my RedCat Rampage XR, but having read your prescription--the need to center the throttle servo horn, I did it, and BOOM! I am now able to apply brakes without my engine cutting out. Thanks man. This forum truly works.
