Dies when warm.

I have an MT V3 that is beginning to frustrate me. I have vented the cap and checked for air leaks at the carb and have done endless tweaking to the carb. The truck starts fine cold and idles, but once it gets hot and I run it around once I hit the brakes is dies and I have to hold the gas open to get it to start again. I run it some more and it dies.

Your idle screw needs to be screwed in more.. The servo is holding the throttle open and not the screw.

Then richen your LSN (low speed needle) until desired rpm without stalling. When the servo is holding the carb open at idle and not the idle screw, every time you brake, well, you are fully closing your carb and the engine will die.

I am having the same issue but I can't get it to start back up again so I just quit and go home lol. Any advice why I can't get it back running?

Is it dying on you as the thread title says or are you just having problems starting it after manually stopping it? Did you try increasing the idle?

Some people were saying that it might be an issue with the carb or the intake manifold... I'm actually about to swap both of these for upgraded parts, I'll let you know if it's still happening after.

in the past many guys on here have had problems, including me, with their kill switches acting up. you might try hitting the button a few times when it doesn't want to start to make sure you've got spark. just a thought since you already checked for leaks and vented your tank.

I got to the bottom of the issue, it was the intake manifold. It was probably warping when it got hot and it was causing an air leak (my idle rpm was also changing a little bit when the engine got hot). When the temperature went down, the leak would be gone and the engine would start fine. I fixed it by replacing the intake with a metal one and using teflon spacers.

So an air leak was the cause?Interesting .....

Ddmracing.com is one place and probably the cheapest. They have a nice alloy manifold.

Mine was dying i,vented gas tank and it runs great now!
